Welcome back to another school year!  I am happy to have your child in my class and I look forward to working together with you during the upcoming year.  This year in 5th grade your child will explore America and its rich history, geography and culture.  Our year-long journey through America will be accomplished with integrated activities in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and visual and performing arts.

            Please help your child have a successful year by carefully reading all correspondences and responding promptly to forms, notes home, phone calls, etc.  In addition, you can assist your child by providing them with a quiet, undisturbed place to work on their homework each night.  You will receive more extensive information on classroom schedules, policies, homework, and curriculum at Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 14.

Supplies your child needs

• A simple, sturdy, 3-ring binder
• Several sharpened pencils
• A backpack
• A box of kleenex to share
  
• Note:  crayons, glue sticks, scissors, lined paper, etc. are provided.  No toys, candy, or other distracting items are allowed in the classroom!

Forms

• Fill out emergency card (front and back) and other office forms.
